Current Role

Preston Yarborough is a senior faculty member in our Societal Impact group, where he designs and delivers leadership development solutions for clients in higher education. Integrating research expertise and practical experience in management, coaching, training, group facilitation, and teaching at the collegiate level, Preston strives to innovate more effective ways for teaching leadership in educational settings.

Experience

Preston joined us in 2011, following a decade of work in sales and sales management. Though he has developed expertise with collegiate populations, his work has spanned a diverse clientele, including educators, scientists, engineers, and healthcare professionals. He has developed a broad spectrum of leaders, ranging from early professionals to middle managers to executives. While completing his dissertation, Preston joined the University of North Carolina–Greensboro’s Office of Leadership and Service-Learning as assistant director. In that role, he helped build an experience-based leadership program that grew from 30 students to more than 800.

Education

Preston has a PhD and an MS in Counseling and Educational Development, both from the University of North Carolina–Greensboro. He has a BA in English from Davidson College.
