As an individual member of Omicron Delta Kappa, you are already a leader on your campus, in your community, or both. However, if you are interested to learn more about your future leadership potential, the strengths you already have, or what you may want to enhance, there are numerous assessment instruments and other resources to help you with further self-discovery.You may also be curious about the wide range of leadership development theories, particularly those which were formulated based on the college student experience.
Dr. Corey Seemiller (Wright State University) and Tom Murray (University of Arizona) completed an earlier effort to link broad professional standards to specific student leadership programs. The video below focuses on their work utilizing Council for Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS) standards and Learning Reconsidered learning outcomes to both develop learning outcomes for leadership programs and assess the success in meeting those outcomes. Dr. Seemiller is currently partnering with Omicron Delta Kappa to assist our collegiate members in better understanding their leadership potential and to develop a greater appreciation for unique attribute of O∆K members. Participants in the 2017 Drive-In Workshops had the opportunity to complete the Student Leadership Competencies Inventory.
